Getting to Petra

A daily bus runs from Amman to Petra. This bus is operated by JETT, air-conditioned large buses are available.
- Departure: 6:30 a.m. from Al Abdali station
- Arrival: 9:30 a.m. to Petra Visitor Center
- The buses return to Amman daily at 4:30 p.m.
Another option is the minibuses that travel from Wahadat Station in Amman via the Desert Highway. This minibus takes around 4 hours to reach Petra.

A private yellow taxi can be used to transport to Petra and it will cost around 90 JD.
Getting Around in Petra
The standard transport option around central Wadi Musa is the 1 JD fare taxi. You will find plenty of taxis travelling around.

The entrance fees you pay when you visit Petra are as follows:

Tickets can be purchased from the visitor center. These prices are inclusive of a horse ride from the visitor center to the entrance of the Siq.
You can also hire a horse carriages from the Visitor Center to the Treasury and back for around 20 JD.
Camel and donkey rides are also available at an extra cost.
